CORONATION Street’s Simon Gregson looked unhappy as he took his sons on a budget camping holiday after selling his old furniture to pay a £100k tax bill.

The 49-year-old posted a picture with his sons on Instagram, braving the gloomy weather.

Simon captioned the photo: “So what did you do in all this wind and rain, we went camping by accident.”

One fan commented: “So nice to see a Dad bonding with his boys!! You all look like you’re having a blast!!”

Another joked: “And you look delighted about it 😂😂.”

A third penned: “😂😂😂😂😂 lovely weather for camping.”

Simon recently sold his old furniture in a bid to pay off a £100k tax bill.

He also owed money to Coutts bank for a Covid bounce-back loan – bringing his total owed to £165,000.

In November, The Sun was told how Simon’s firm had gone bust and he had called in liquidators.

Accountants combing through the failed business found very little in cash or assets to offset the debts.

Last year Simon and his wife were at risk of having their café closed down to make way for a new development.

An application for four homes on the site was approved last October despite 188 objections.
