PGA Tour to kick off with the Tournament of Champions in 2022

2022 will begin with the Sentry Tournament of Champions from January 6th to 9th. The scenic Kapalua Plantation Course in Hawaii will be host to the event and a massive purse of $8,000,000 will be up for grabs.

The qualifiers include defending champion Harris English, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and many other top-ranked players. However, most of the players have until the end of this week to commit to the event.

Next in line will be the Sony Open, from January 13th to 16th. Continuing on the beautiful island of Hawaii, the Waiʻalae Country Club will host the $6,600,000 event. 38-year-old Korean American Kevin Na won the 2021 edition and will surely be looking for a repeat of last year’s performance.

The ‘west coast’ swing of the tour

The next swing of the tour will move to the West Coast, with the American Express being played in La Quinta, California. Popularly known as the Desert Classic, it will be played from January 20th to 23rd in the PGA West Stadium Course. It will offer a purse of $7,600,000.
